Trucker severely injured in rollover crash on Mass Pike in Palmer

A man was severely injured today when the tractor-trailer he was driving rolled over on the Exit 8 ramp off the Mass Pike in Palmer, State Police said.

The driver was taken to Baystate Medical Center, Trooper Thomas Murphy, a State Police spokesman, said.

The tractor-trailer, which was carrying salt, rolled over at about 12:30 p.m., leaking diesel fuel onto the road.

The ramp will be closed for “an extended time” for cleanup, Murphy said.
