School aide returns to work after modeling controversy

A Fitchburg elementary school aide who was placed on paid leave after officials learned of her work as a bikini and lingerie model returned to school Tuesday, school officials said in a statement.

Kaitlin Pearson, 23, who works as a special education classroom assistant in South Street Elementary School, was suspended after someone anonymously sent a package of pictures of her working as a bikini and lingerie model to the school on Jan. 17, the Associated Press reported.

The photos displayed Pearson scantily clad, and had a note attached reading: “Can you believe that this girl was hired to work with special education children in the Fitchburg schools!?” the AP reported.

After Fitchburg school officials reviewed “relevant information,” they notified Pearson she could come back to school, according to the school system’s statement, which was released Tuesday.

“We are confident that she will bring the same level of commitment to her job and her students that she always had,” school officials said.
