Waterville police have charged a homeless man with breaking into a local business and stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of cards used in a popular fantasy game. Police said Robert White, 27, was allegedly found Sunday with the stolen merchandise at his encampment behind MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Thayer Center for Health. Authorities said he allegedly stole about $20,000 worth of merchandise from the store Spell Bound, including a laptop and boxes of cards for the trading card game ‘‘Magic: The Gathering.’’ Police told the Morning Sentinel that a brick was thrown through the glass door, allowing access.
