Robinson was additionally charged with unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon because police found a knife in his possession during the booking process.

Boston police, responding to a call of an assault near Brigham Circle in Roxbury at about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, found a man lying unconscious on Tremont Street. A witness told police the man had been attacked by three men and then a woman hit him over the head with an umbrella, police said.

As the victim regained consciousness, he told officers he was walking on Tremont Street when the group approached him. A woman asked him for money, and when he refused one of the men yelled at him and punched him. The two other men began punching and kicking him as well, knocking him to the ground, police said.

The victim said his wallet, cellphone, and money were missing. He had cuts on his mouth and forearms and was taken to an area hospital for the injuries, which police described as not life-threatening.

Officers searched the area and found two men that fit the suspects’ descriptions running up Calumet Street. They detained them and found the victim’s belongings under a parked car about 15 feet from where the suspects were stopped.

Officers are continuing to search for the third man and the woman.

The two men are awaiting arraignment, Suffolk prosecutors said.
