Officials say 9 displaced in early morning E. Boston fire


A two-alarm fire early Saturday on Bennington Street in East Boston caused an estimated $350,000 in damage and displaced nine people, according to the Boston Fire Department.

Crews responded to the scene at 4:40 a.m., Boston Fire reported via its official Twitter account. The structure at 132 Bennington St., located between Central and Day squares, housed a business and apartments, fire officials said.

Fire investigators remained at the scene early Saturday, according to the fire department.
