Snay, 62, was arrested by Uxbridge police and is under investigation by police in Connecticut and Rhode Island for allegedly committing unspecified crimes in those states, Uxbridge Police Chief Jeffrey A. Lourie said in a statement over the weekend.

The Uxbridge charges cover a four-year period that began in 2008 and ended in 2012, according to police and prosecutors. Lourie said in the statement that Snay’s lottery winnings played a role in his alleged crimes, but further details were not immediately released.

According to the state Sex Offender Registry Board, Snay lives on Elmwood Avenue in Uxbridge and works in Mendon. He was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age in 1974 and of the same charge in 1976.
