A woman said she was sexually assaulted in the foyer of her North End apartment over the weekend, Boston police said.
The woman called police about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, saying that a man approached her from behind and assaulted her at her building, near Salem and Hull streets, police said.
The victim described the suspect as a white man in his 30s. She said he is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and weighed about 200 pounds. He had short brown hair and was wearing a long dark coat, and jeans, the victim told police.
The incident is under investigation.
In mid-February, Boston police issued a community alert after a man indecently assaulted a young woman as she entered her foyer in the North End.
At this time, police do not believe the incidents are related, a police spokesman said.
