Police release footage of ‘person of interest’ in North End assault

Police on Tuesday released video footage of a man sought in connection with an indecent assault on March 16 in the North End.

The incident happened when a woman reported being indecently assaulted in the foyer of her apartment by a man who then fled on foot.

The footage was taken in the area of Salem and Hull streets, where the assault occurred. Police spokesman David Estrada said that the man in the footage is considered a “person of interest” in the investigation.

Police are interested in speaking to the man in the footage, which can be seen on the Boston Police Department news website.

Anyone with information on the attack is asked to contact the police sexual assault unit at 617-343-4400 or to anonymously call 1-800-494-TIPS.
