A third person has been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s stabbing at Methuen High School, police said.
Jomar Vega, 18, is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to Methuen Police Lieutenant Greg Gallant.
He is currently a senior at the school, said Gallant.
Vega, along with Leivi Jose Cruzetta, 19, and Justin Ramone Suriel, 18, were involved in the stabbing of an 18-year-old male student about 2 p.m. Tuesday in the school’s parking lot, police said.
Cruzetta and Suriel are former students of the high school, police said.
The victim was treated and released at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, police said.
The incident was not gang-related, police said. Police are investigating the connection between Cruzetta, Suriel, Vega, and the victim.
All three alleged attackers are awaiting arraignment in Lawrence District Court.Jacqueline Tempera can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Follow her on twitter @jacktemp
