A dog bit a woman’s lower lip off in East Sandwich Saturday evening, police said in a statement. The dog, a pit bull-boxer mix, bit the 43-year-old woman at 66 Salt Marsh Road about 6:20 p.m., police said. The woman was taken to South Shore Hospital. Sandwich animal control secured the dog and will investigate, police said. The police statement did not say who owns the dog. Police officials authorized to speak with reporters were unavailable Sunday.
