T fare evader sought on kidnapping charge, police say

Transit Police arrested a man after he entered the MBTA’s JFK/UMass station in Dorchester without paying Sunday only to discover he was facing kidnapping charges in Lynn District Court.

Sean Bennett, 21, of Boston entered the station through the emergency gate about 7:45 a.m. Sunday.

Officers saw him evade his fare and approached him to issue a citation, Transit Police said.

Bennett gave officers a false name and ran out of the station. Another Transit Police officer was nearby and stopped Bennett, Transit Police said.
