Body found in burning car in Savin Hill

Police removed a body from a burning car in Dorchester early Tuesday morning, officials said. About 3:30 a.m., police found the car near Sea View Terrace, a small street off Savin Hill Avenue, firefighters said. The Boston Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, as well as flames on a few nearby trees, said Steve MacDonald, Boston Fire Department spokesman. The cause of the fire has not been identified, MacDonald said. Emergency medical workers took the body to the medical examiner’s office at about 4 a.m. Boston police are investigating the fire, which took place near The Boston Globe’s main parking lot.
