Man reported beaten on Red Line train

A man was beaten on a Red Line train traveling from Andrew Square to the JFK/UMass station on Monday afternoon, Transit Police said. The victim reported being assaulted by another man on the train between 2 and 3 p.m., said Superintendent in Chief Joseph O’Connor of the Transit Police. The victim was taken to a hospital after being punched in the face and kicked in the chest, but his condition was not known Tuesday evening, Transit Police said. “There were possible racial connotations” to things said during the assault, O’Connor said. No suspect had been apprehended by Tuesday night.
