Two sunny days in the 50s before a rainy Friday

Two sunny days lie ahead, leading into a rainy end to the week and a “beautiful” weekend, forecasters said.

“Rain should move in during the overnight hours [Thursday] and be off and on through Saturday morning,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Alan Dunham . “But once we get rid of those scattered showers, it’s going to be a beautiful weekend.”

Today will be sunny and dry, with high temperatures near 57 degrees dropping into the mid-30s overnight.

Those conditions should repeat Thursday, though high temperatures will crest at a higher 59 degrees. Some clouds will appear in the afternoon as low temperatures sink into the mid-40s.

Friday will be even warmer, with high temperatures cresting at 62 degrees, and some light, scattered showers possible during the day. Rain could start sprinkling as early as 5 a.m., and again after 3 p.m. Skies will become cloudy in the evening as temperatures drop into the mid-40s. Rain should return after 11 p.m. and continue overnight and into Saturday morning.
