50 pounds of marijuana allegedly found in Wayland traffic stop

Fifty pounds of marijuana were allegedly founf in the trunk of a car during a traffic stop in Wayland.

A Braintree woman is facing drug trafficking charges after State Police allegedly discovered 5o pounds of marijuana in the trunk of her car during a traffic stop in Wayland on Wednesday afternoon.

Chun Hong Kuang, 33, is to be arraigned in Framingham District Court on charges of drug trafficking and traffic violations, according to Trooper Todd Nolan, a State Police spokesman.

Kuang’s rented Chevy Malibu was stopped while driving on Route 128 in Wayland at about 4 p.m. for traffic violations. A police canine requested to sniff the car indicated there were drugs in the trunk, Nolan said.

Kuang was arrested after troopers opened the trunk and discovered four boxes containing about 50 pounds of marijuana.
