With 2014 Boston Marathon, Boston moves forward

HOPKINTON — Tens of thousands of runners streamed down the Boston Marathon course under brilliant skies today, while spectators grew hoarse cheering them on, in an old race with a profound new message of rebirth after last year’s deadly terror bomb attack.

“We’re taking back our race today. We’re taking back the finish line,” race director Dave McGillivray said, addressing the crowds over the loudspeaker at the starting line this morning
