A body was found on the shore of Revere Beach Wednesday morning, officials said. The body was reported by a passerby at about 11:30 a.m. on the beach across from 420 Revere Beach Parkway, said David Procopio, a State Police spokesman. Due to the condition of the remains, the gender, identity, and exact age of the body have not yet been determined, but the remains appear to be those of an adult, said Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley.

Globe correspondent Jacqueline Tempera contributed to this report. Jennifer Smith can be reached at jennifer.smith@globe.com.
