Aaron Hernandez indicted after alleged assault and threats in prison


Former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez, who is awaiting trial on first-degree murder and weapon charges, was indicted Thursday by a grand jury in an alleged assault inside the Bristol County House of Correction and Jail in North Dartmouth in February, said Bristol District Attorney C. Samuel Sutter’s office. Hernandez now faces charges of assault and batterym as well as threat to do bodily harm, after an alleged assault on another inmate on Feb. 25 and threats on Nov. 1, 2013, Sutter’s office said. Hernandez is expected to be arraigned at a later date.
