Squirrel goes nuts on teen taking ‘selfie’

A Maine teenager was flustered, but unharmed, after a photo opportunity with a squirrel went awry. Brian Genest, 17, of Auburn said Wednesday that he saw what appeared to be a friendly squirrel on a handrail while walking through John Chestnut Park near Tampa during a trip to look at colleges. Genest took a ‘‘selfie’’ of himself and the squirrel, but the flash and noises from his camera phone scared the animal, which climbed under his shirt and hung onto his back. Genest’s mother snapped photos of the spectacle, which are posted on her son’s Facebook page. She said Genest and the squirrel were unharmed.
