A 23-year-old Norwalk woman has been sentenced to probation for attempting to break into a pet store and free the puppies inside. Anouk Govil was arrested Jan. 15 outside Puppies of Westport, after police caught her with a rock trying to break the front door. She told authorities she was trying to get into the store to ‘‘set the puppies free.’’ The Hour of Norwalk reported that Govil was granted accelerated rehabilitation Thursday in an appearance in Superior Court. Under the program, she will have the criminal mischief charge expunged from her record if she successfully completes three months of probation.
