Maine father accused of injuring twin infants

Police charged a Sanford, Maine, man with felony aggravated assault, accusing him of intentionally injuring his twin infants while they were in his care. Anthony Carpinelli, 21, was arrested Monday and held without bail at the York County Jail. Carpinelli’s twins were brought to Southern Maine Health Care’s emergency department on Friday with serious head injuries before being transferred to Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Police said one twin had critical injuries and the other serious.
