Sandwich boy, 2, flown to MGH with serious burns

A 2-year-old Sandwich boy was taken by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital this morning after sustaining serious burn injuries to his arm, officials said.

The boy was injured at his home on Nantucket Trail. He was picked up by the helicopter at Forestdale School just after 7:20 a.m. today, according to Sandwich Fire Chief William Carrico.

The toddler was injured when “hot water” splashed on his right arm. His parents were there during the incident, Carrico said.
