Police investigating Boston’s 21st homicide of year

A man was shot to death in Dorchester late Thursday night, Boston police said.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at 15 Cawfield St. at 11 p.m. The victim had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.


Parts of Cawfield and Eastman streets were closed off as homicide detectives investigated, but the streets have since been reopened, Officer Rachel McGuire, a police spokeswoman, said today

The man’s name has not yet been released. No arrests have been made, police said. The slaying is the 21st murder in Boston this year, compared with 15 by this time last year, police said.
