Thief hid in Fall River library until after closing to steal turtle

Fall River police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who stole a turtle from a public library in the town Saturday night.

The man, who is wanted for larceny, is shown in surveillance footage hiding in the Fall River Public Library until after it closed, and stealing a 13-year-old turtle named Franklin.

The turtle is valued at approximately $80, police said.

Police urged anyone with information to contact detectives at 508-675-8511.
