Body found floating in Billerica lake

Billerica police found the body of a 60-year-old resident floating in Nutting Lake this morning, police said.

At about 10 a.m. officers received a call reporting Lorna Rutkauskas missing. She lived on the lake, according to Deputy Chief Roy Frost.

Officers had found a canoe on the lake hours earlier that allegedly belonged to the missing woman. The boat was not overturned, Frost said.

State Police and Billerica firefighters launched a water search, and at 11 a.m. they found the body that has been identified as Rutkauskas, Frost said.

State and local police are investigating the incident.
