The man from Weare, N.H., was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle, State Police said. For unknown reasons, the man appeared to lose control and crashed the motorcycle, coming to a stop in the middle travel lane, State Police said.

He was taken by the Milford Fire/EMS Departments to Milford Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Two lanes were closed on the highway, causing over nine miles of traffic backups. State Police said the lanes were reopened at about 5:30 p.m.
