Four people were injured in the crash, but only one person’s injuries were described as serious.

A 19-year-old woman was in critical condition tonight after a motor vehicle crash in Methuen, according to State Police.

Four people were injured, including the unidentified woman from Methuen, after a 2007 Chevy Malibu crashed on Interstate 495 North at Route 213 at about 11:25 a.m. today, said State Trooper Dustin Fitch. The woman was initially taken to Lawrence General Hospital, but then moved by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, State Police said.

The three other people in the crash, who have not been identified, did not suffer serious injuries, State Police said.

The left and middle lanes on the highway were shut down while authorities processed the scene.

Fitch said that the crash is under investigation and it is not known if charges will be filed.
