2 critically hurt in Dennis Port fire

Two people suffered critical injuries and were transported to Boston hospitals after a three-alarm blaze early Friday in Dennis Port, fire officials said.

The first call for the blaze at the Seabreeze condominium complex on Center Street came at 2:37 a.m., Dennis Fire Chief Mark Dellner said. Six fire departments responded.

Crews arriving at the scene found heavy fire and occupants trapped in the building, he said.

Nine people were injured, including two Dennis police officers, a Dennis firefighter, and a Brewster firefighter, Dellner said. Most of the injuries were not life-threatening, he said.

In all, 33 people were displaced, with 21 being housed at the Dennis police station as of early Friday, Dellner said.
