Hikers on the Appalachian Trail may have had an extra experience, courtesy of Mother Nature early this morning: a small earthquake. The exact location of the quake, which hit around 3:41 a.m, was on the Appalachian Trail, said the US Geological Survey. The location was about a mile and a half east of Berlin City Chevrolet on Route 16. The earthquake had a magnitude of 1.8, the USGS said, meaning that it was probably only felt by a few and caused no damage.
