3-family home damaged in Lawrence blaze

A three-family home sustained “considerable damage” from a three-alarm fire in Lawrence early Monday morning, said Lawrence Fire Chief John Marsh .

One person sustained minor burns in the blaze, but was treated and released, said Jennifer Mieth, public information officer for the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services. Fire officials responded to the scene at 16 Wells St. at about 3:30 a.m., Marsh said. The fire took about three hours to put out.

Marsh said the front of the home was damaged on all three floors and some of the siding had melted. He said he did not believe the fire to be suspicious.

It was not clear how many residents were displaced by the fire.

The fire is under investigation by State Police and Lawrence Fire Department.
