Suspect in Malden bank robbery captured in Everett, police say

Police arrested a 25-year-old Everett man and charged him in a bank robbery in Malden Thursday morning, authorities said.

Jobe Dimanche allegedly entered the US Alliance Credit Union on Eastern Avenue shortly after 10 a.m. and presented a note demanding money, Malden police Detective Lieutenant Marc Gatcomb said in a statement.

During the robbery, Dimanche wore “a long-haired wig, some type of gray dress, and denim jacket” that seemed to purposefully hide the fact that he was a man, Gatcomb said.

Dimanche was taken into custody Thursday afternoon at a residence in Everett, according to Gatcomb. He was charged with unarmed robbery, failure to stop for a police officer, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, police said.

Dimanche is expected to be arraigned Friday in Malden District Court.

State and Everett police and the FBI assisted Malden police in the response and robbery investigation, Gatcomb said.
