A woman and an 11-month-old-girl appeared unharmed Sunday after an alleged armed kidnapping in Worcester, State Police said. Worcester police received a report that the woman and child were forced into a white Lincoln, possibly headed for Springfield, at about 2:10 p.m., State Police said. About 20 minutes later, a trooper saw a car matching the description on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Palmer. A group of troopers stopped the car near Ludlow and arrested a man whose name and age they did not release. Inside the car, police found the woman and child, who did not appear to be harmed, police said. Emergency medical technicians were called to evaluate the two as a precaution. Police also found a handgun inside the car, for which the man arrested did not have a licence, they said. Police did not say whether the suspect knew the woman and baby or what charges he faces.
