Tuesday will likely remain sunny in Eastern Massachusetts, but “Western Massachusetts might have a few showers,” said Bill Simpson, a National Weather Service meteorologist. Temperatures will be on the rise, with the high reaching the mid-80s. The showers in the west will slowly move eastward, arriving in the Boston area by Wednesday.

“As is typical with these scenarios ... by Wednesday afternoon, there could be some showers. Just a chance of [rain] through Thursday afternoon,” Simpson said. “These are not widespread, these are more like scattered.” The weather service is also predicting the possibility of thunderstorms over the region Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures will remain high on Wednesday, reaching the upper 80s. By Thursday, they will start becoming more comfortable, with high temperatures in the upper 70s.

By Friday, the sun is expected to return with clear skies and temperatures in the high 70s. This weather could persist through Sunday, Simpson said, making for another nice weekend.
