Motorcycle crash in Norwell leaves two riders dead

Two people were killed when a motorcycle crashed in Norwell Thursday morning, officials said.

Authorities received a call reporting the accident at 5:37 a.m. according to a statement from Norwell police.


The crash occurred at the intersection of Green and River streets.

The 2006 Honda motorcycle hit a utility pole, the statement said. Both of the deceased were riding on the motorcycle.

Their identities were not immediately available, pending notification of the family.

State and Norwell police are investigating.

River Street was closed from Tara Drive to Green Street for a time because of the crash.
