A partially open box filled with human remains was found Sunday morning in Duxbury, officials said. The box was discovered at 11:36 a.m. at the intersection of Alexander Way and Walker Road, according to a statement from Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz’s office. State Police examined the box, which was said to be emitting a strong odor, with an X-ray, according to the statement. It showed what appeared to be human remains inside. The remains were brought to the chief medical examiner’s office to be identified, Cruz’s office said. The discovery is under investigation. No further information was available late Sunday.
