Police seek car involved in fatal motorcycle crash

A Halifax man riding a motorcycle on Route 44 in Carver was fatally struck early Sunday morning by an unidentified vehicle that left the scene, police said.

Shane Reilly, 36, was found dead in the area of mile marker 32 on the westbound side of the highway when police arrived at the scene at around 1:30 a.m., said Trooper Reid Bagley, spokesman for State Police. Reilly was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson, he said.

State Police are searching for a “blue Hyundai with damage to the front and/or the left side,” said Bagley. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police barracks in Middleborough at 508-947-2222.

State Police and the Plymouth District Attorney’s office are investigating the crash, said Bagley. No other information was immediately available.
