A male Harvard University employee was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning by two individuals he had met at a restaurant in Harvard Square, according to Cambridge police.
“This was a person who had met the two suspects earlier in the evening,” said Cambridge police spokesman Jeremy Warnick.
At about 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, the staffer was walking with two individuals on Church Street when the men allegedly jumped him, taking his wallet and other personal items, according to Warnick.
“The two suspects reportedly held the victim up to the wall and held what the victim believed to be a gun up to his head,” Warnick said. “At that point, the suspects removed his wallet and some other personal belongings from the victim and fled.”
The suspects then fled in the direction of Brattle Street towards Fresh Pond, Warnick said. The victim promptly reported the crime to Cambridge police.
“We searched the immediate area for those suspects and were not able to locate them,” Warnick said.
