9-year-old girl pulled from Yarmouth pool has died

A 9-year-old New York girl pulled last week from a pool at the Bayside Resort Hotel in Yarmouth has died, Yarmouth police said in a statement on their Facebook page.

The girl and her 12-year-old sister were pulled from the bottom of the pool unconscious at about 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 20. They were taken to Cape Cod Hospital, then flown to Boston Children’s Hospital. The 12-year-old is alive and remains hospitalized, police said. The victims’ identities have not been released.

The case remains under investigation by State Police and Yarmouth police.
