3 men tried to abduct student in N.H., police say

Police are searching for three men who they say tried to force a University of New Hampshire student into the trunk of their car early Friday morning. The female student, who was not injured, told university police investigators that two of the men got out of a tan sedan with South Carolina plates and tried to pull her into the trunk. The kidnapping attempt was foiled when friends of the student’s arrived at the scene, which is near the UNH campus, police said. Investigators said the student described the men as ‘‘military looking.’’ (AP)
