Woman killed in Methuen car crash

A woman was killed in a car crash in Methuen early this morning after the vehicle she was in slammed into a telephone pole, police said.

It was unclear whether the woman was driving at the time of the accident.


Police said the woman and a man, both in their 30s and from Lowell, were driving on Route 113 by Moody Avenue when their car crashed into a pole around 7:50 a.m.

According to Lieutenant Greg Gallant, the woman was transported to Lawrence General Hospital where she was pronounced dead, and the man was medflighted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with serious injuries.

The names of the victims were not immediately released and the crash remains under investigation.
