Student injured in fall from MIT fraternity window

A student was rushed to the hospital Sunday night when she fell from a window at a Massachusetts Institute of Technology fraternity, officials said.

The student, who is not affiliated with MIT, fell from the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house at 99 Bay State Rd. about 11:30 p.m., according to MIT spokeswoman Kimberly Allen.

It was not immediately clear how the victim fell.

She was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, said Boston Public Health Commission spokeswoman McKenzie Ridings. The extent of her injuries was not clear.

MIT officials are investigating the incident, though Boston Police said they are not investigating.
