A car fire forced the closure of several lanes on Interstate 95 South in Lynnfield this morning as crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
The car went up in flames around 9:40 a.m. in the breakdown lane of the highway, north of Walnut Street, said Trooper Nicole Morrell, a State Police spokeswoman.
Morrell said one person was in the car, and no serious injuries were reported.
All lanes were closed around 9:50 a.m. at Walnut Street as Lynnfield firefighters put out the flames. As of 10:30 a.m., all lanes had reopened.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
