Man shot in leg on Tonawanda St. in Dorchester

Boston police responded to a report of a shooting in Dorchester earlier this afternoon, officials said.

Officers responded to the area of 136 Tonawanda St. around 1:20 p.m. for a report of a person shot, said a Boston police spokesman.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was shot in the leg and transported to an area hospital. Police said they did not have a suspect.

No further information was immediately available.

Today’s shooting came only a few days after a 24-year-old man was shot to death nearby, in the front yard of a home on Claybourne Street.
