Sunny skies, cool temperatures will last through weekend

Mostly sunny skies and cool temperatures are expected through the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Today will likely be sunny, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s.

Thursday will see a slight chance of afternoon showers, said Bill Simpson , a weather service meteorologist, though they aren’t terribly likely. A few clouds will hang around overnight.

Unusually cool temperatures will define Friday, when the high barely reaches 60 degrees, but the sun will be back, the weather service said.

Temperatures will be rising through the weekend, hitting the upper 60s Saturday and mid-70s by Sunday.
