Mayor Martin J. Walsh on Monday appointed Jeri Robinson, vice president of early learning initiatives at the Boston Children’s Museum, to the School Committee. “Jeri Robinson is a longstanding member of Boston’s education community who knows the learning landscape, and will be an important voice at the table,” Walsh said in a statement. Robinson will replace Margaret McKenna, who resigned. Robinson started out as a prekindergarten teacher in 1971, the statement said. At the Children’s Museum, she developed the first-of-its-kind PlaySpace exhibit, designed to encourage creativity in children up to age 3, the mayor’s office said.
