Man severely injured in hit-and-run crash in Dorchester

A 63-year-old man was seriously injured in Dorchester Saturday night when he was struck by a driver who fled the scene, authorities said.

The man was entering his vehicle near the intersection of Morton and Evans streets when he was hit around 10:20 p.m., according to Jake Wark, a spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office.

The man, whose name was not released, was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in critical condition, Wark said this morning.

Investigators are retrieving video evidence from the scene, said Wark, and believe the vehicle that hit the man may have been a sedan.
