Dirt bike operator critically injured in collision with car in Maine

The York County Sheriff’s deputies say a Maine man was critically injured when his dirt bike struck a car at a rest area.

The Press Herald reported that Patrick Smith, 23, of Standish was in the eastbound breakdown lane travelling west on Route 25 Saturday afternoon when he struck the rear of a car that had just pulled into the Limington rest area.

Deputies say Smith was wearing a helmet but was thrown from the bike. He was taken to Maine Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver of the car — Audrey Godeck, 50, of Buxton — was not injured.
