A former Uber driver linked by forensic evidence to five sexual assaults will be held without bail for up to three months after a dangerousness hearing Monday in South Boston Municipal Court.

Alejandro Done, 46, has been charged with rape in connection with attacks that Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley described as “violent, predatory assaults.”

After being arrested in December for allegedly raping an Uber passenger, Done’s DNA from that case matched forensic evidence from four earlier sexual assaults in Boston, authorities said. Those attacks happened on June 13, 2010, near Preble Circle in South Boston; June 16, 2007, and July 29, 2007, on the Esplanade; and July 29, 2006, near Joe Moakley Park in South Boston.

Prosecutor David Deakin on Monday petitioned for Done to be held without bail while awaiting a Sept. 10 probable cause hearing related to the 2006 attack on a 30-year-old South Boston woman. Done’s defense attorney, Timothy Bradl, did not contest Deakin’s request.

Done faces another dangerousness hearing Tuesday related to the July 29, 2007, attack, in which a woman in her 20s was abducted at knifepoint, forced across a footbridge to the Esplanade, sexually assaulted, and robbed of her cellphone, money, and camera.
