Police confiscated two guns from a “suspicious” group of males on the grounds of a bilingual elementary school in Roxbury Sunday night, Boston police said.
Carl Reynolds, 25, of Boston, was charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug (marijuana), and trespassing after police arrested him at the Rafael Hernandez School at approximately 10:30 p.m., according to police reports.
Reynolds was among a “large group of males” that were seen trespassing that evening by officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force, police said.
When the officers approached the men to ask them why they were loitering on school grounds, two of them ducked into a white motor vehicle and then returned, according to the report.

The officers noticed both of those men appeared “anxious and nervous” because they were “breathing heavily and shaking” while they spoke to the officers, police said.
One of the suspects reportedly walked away from the scene after answering several questions.
The white vehicle was illegally parked beneath a sign that read, “No Trespassing and No Parking,” with the windows and front passenger door open, and dashboard power on, police said. When neither suspect claimed ownership of the car, the officers opened the glovebox to check the vehicle’s registration, Boston police said.
In searching for the registration, officers found two firearms and a large plastic bag filled with smaller bags of a green herbal substance that was believed to be marijuana, police said.
Reynolds was the only one arrested at the scene, but the investigation remains active and additional charges could be pending, according to the report.
