US Representative Katherine M. Clark, the Melrose Democrat seen as a rising star in her party, will host a high-dollar fund-raiser with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi in Boston in June, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by the Globe.

Clark, who took office after winning a special election in 2013, has quietly and quickly ascended the leadership ranks in Washington. She has worked with national Democrats to help recruit candidates across the country to run for Congress. Headlining a fund-raiser with Pelosi — the former speaker — could be seen as sign of her increasing clout in the party.

Tickets for the luncheon at the InterContinental Boston hotel, set to benefit the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the arm of the party working to take back control of the House of Representatives, start at $500 for a “supporter.” Tickets top out at $33,400 for a couple wanting to be in the “Speaker’s Cabinet” — which includes four tickets to a VIP photo line and a premier table of 10.

Former US representative Gabrielle Giffords, the Arizona Democrat who was shot in the head in a 2011 mass shooting, is going to be a special guest at the “womenlead” event, the invitation says.

While Democrats are seen as unlikely to net the 30 seats needed to take back control of the House this November, fund-raisers such as the one in Boston can fill party coffers with enough money to help it pick off some vulnerable Republicans.

Clark represents a mostly suburban and heavily Democratic district that runs from Winthrop to Woburn to Southborough to Holliston. She is seen as a shoo-in for reelection this year.
